Market Day Gourmet

The Palafox Market is always a neat experience because of the varied vendors.  Guide, Hunter May provides excellent background as you meander through the stalls, inviting the group to try certain dishes.  She then leads the group onto one of Go Retro’s buses, which broadens this culinary experience beyond the market area.  Places visited include:

Bodacious Olive:  Located at the corner of Palafox and Main, this boutique offers a variety of products, but the group will get samples of wine and cheese and explanations as to what makes these so special.  

Joe Patti’s:  This is Pensacola’s most popular seafood market; thousands visit every week.  Here the group will get to learn more about the operation and sample the smoked tuna dip and gelato. 

Ever’man Cooperative Grocery & Cafe:  This local community cooperative is the place to go to get local organic and whole foods downtown.  Located in a renovated traditional brick building, their resident chef will delight the group with a sumptuous tasting of local favorites that will cause you to crave more.  

Chrisoula’s:  Ending this tour on s sweet note is just what is needed.  Chrisoula’s delivers with its famous, mouth-watering cheescake.  Enjoy learning more about this neat establishment. 

The tour begins and ends in front of the Perry House (6 E Wright St) at the corner of Wright and Palafox Streets.  Book by 5:00 pm the day before the tour.
