Walking Cemetery Tour

Go Retro has teamed with St. John's Cemetery to offer this fascinating walking tour of Pensacola's largest historic cemetery.  With graves dated back to the early 19th century, there are several stories to share.  Some are chilling.  Some will cause you to contemplate your own death.  This tour is very entertaining and is the perfect way to experience the cemetery prior to dusk.  When you arrive, either park in the lot across the street from St. John's Cemetery, which is located at 301 N. G St., or just inside the cemetery near the old Gatehouse.  A uniformed guide in a hat will greet you.

"Very informative and very organized . Enjoyed it ! Look forward to some other tours ." -- Cheryl Malmberg
"Old bus was fantastic. The tour information and the "period" costume people were great. We, too, have gravesites there. Charlie's mother, Lucille Brooks, is buried there. One point, however, the monitors in front of our seats were not on. That was really no much of a problem, We could easily hear the one in the front. So....thanks, and we will do it again. "I booked this tour while on a trip to the beach for my friend's 21st birthday. The weather was a little bleak as we drove over, but once we arrived, it was a blast from the very start! The tour guide was so friendly as we made introductions, and once the tour started, he had me hanging onto his every word. Not only was the history that he shared with us completely fascinating, the way he told the stories of the many interesting people who were buried in the cemetery was absolutely compelling. Some of the things he talked about have actually made us want to come back and do some of the other tours that he recommended, and we will definitely take his tour again. If you go to the Pensacola area and do not take the tour of the St. John's Cemetery, then you are missing out on such a treat!" -- Johnna K.
